Sailboat and Nautical Mini Album

Hey Everyone!  I have been sooo busy lately, but I finally get to share with you my newest project.  I made a sailboat and of course, I put a mini album inside it.  First lets talk about the boat.

The Sailboat is 12" tall, but with the base it is 13" tall.  It is a little over 11" long.  I covered the boat with wood veneer paper, which is real wood and a sticky back paper.  It is also somewhat see through.  Therefore, I covered the whole boat in white cardstock first then added the wood veneer paper.  I love how it turned out.  The metal knobs that I used are from Kaisercraft and I add jute rope around the boat.  I will have a tutorial for this which should be up in a week.  The sails I created and have a template for in the tutorial.

What do you think of my sailboat?

Next up is the Nautical Mini Album, which slides into the back of the boat.  It is 8 x 4 3/4" in size and has 4 pages. So with this front cover (which I love by the way), I use Tim Holtz new Shadow Press, which is awesome.  I have the Expedition Set and used several words from the set in the album. I also used Tim Holtz newish Mini Sand and Sea - Mover and Shapers.  The sea horses are out of grunge paper, inked and then used clear crackle paint.  If you like my sea horses, you should check out Tim Holtz July 2014 tag.  However, Tim uses paint for the sea horse and I used ink.  I used Graphic 45 By The Sea paper collection for this project.
The Front and Back covers have a slider pocket using burlap ribbon for the 4 x 6 cards from the paper collection.

The first page has a flap that opens and a tag inside.
The back of the page has a flap (with a magnet to keep tags in place), under the flap is 2 bi-fold tags.

I used brads on the front and back of the page as an accent.

I really like how my port hole turned out.

So I have two separate videos, one for the Sailboat and one for the Nautical Mini Album.  I usually have a slow start when I first turn on the camera and then get better as I go.  I still need more practice though.

I hope you enjoyed these projects.  And if you want to make both or either of these I will have a tutorial for both in about a week.  Have a great crafting weekend.
